History:   This historic home was originally built in 1925 by Hollywood founder, Joseph Young, in downtown Hollywood and, in 1933, was sold and transported by flatbed and reinstated in its current oceanfront location, where it was used as a private residence by a prominent judge for many years. The home has a rich history of owners and guests, and was the writing residence for many years of the literary legend, James Jones, author of From Here to Eternity.

LOCATION:  This unique, tropically elegant, “vintage Florida” bed and breakfast is nestled on a barrier island, and in one of Florida’s blue-ribbon, award-winning beaches.

Lauderdale Airport go South on US-1 and turn left (east) at Dania Beach Blvd. (Jai Lai) turn right and head (south) on A1A past the Sheridan Street bridge; once you pass the Hollywood Boulevard bridge go 3 blocks to Jackson Street.  Turn left.    From I-95 exit on Hollywood Boulevard, head east and follow the signs to A1A Beaches, turn right (south) on A1A to Jackson Street, turn left.

General Description:  Hollywood By the Sea offers a combination of neighborhood charm, parrots and paradise, and a slice of romance and adventure reminiscent of the 1930’s and ‘40’s.  The renovations and décor of this cutting edge, eclectic, haven by the sea features unusual paintings, funky sculpture, interspersed with avant-garde lamps and curios lend a  “borderline bizarre” approach to furnishings and interior design.
