Chocolate Fudge Walnut Christmas Cookies

Never mind the ingredients that seem to spill and get flung across the room!  Baking Christmas cookies with your children is a gentle time. It is a time to relate one on one with your child.  These are memories that will last a lifetime.

At deliciouscookies.com and therecipeexchange.com we have been busy testing our favorite Christmas recipes for you.  Here is one of our favorites.  Our Chocolate Fudge Walnut Cookies are loaded with crispy toasted walnuts and semi sweet chocolate chips. Our chefs advise that for the  chewiest texture that you slightly under baking these chocolaty cookies. 

We hope you and your families  enjoy them as much as we do.  Don't forget the tall glasses of cold bubbly milk!.               

Ingredients: 
Butter- 1 stick, softened. 
Brown Sugar-1 cup. 
Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips-1/2 cup. 
Egg-1. 
Pure Vanilla Extract-1 teaspoon. 
Unsweetened Baking Chocolate-2 squares (1 oz.). 
Flour-1 1/2 cups. 
Baking Powder-1 teaspoon. 
Baking Soda- 1/2 teaspoon. 
Toasted Walnut Pieces-3/4 cup. 
Cinnamon-1/2 teaspoon.          

Instructions: 
Bake the walnut pieces at 350F degrees for 12 minutes.  Remove from the oven and allow to cool. Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.  Add in the egg and vanilla.  Mix.  Melt the chocolate and cool slightly.  Pour the slightly cooled chocolate into the butter mixture and mix.  Add in all the other ingredients until well blended.  Drop teaspoon sized balls onto a greased cookie sheet.  Bake at 375F degrees for 10 minutes.
