Homemade Creamy Mashed Potatoes
By Gary Solomon

Simply the best!  Healthy and easy to make.  There is no excuse for having to use" box" potato flakes.  All you need is time to boil the potatoes.  You can even boil them ahead of time and store them in the refrigerator.

There is no substitute for real homemade mashed potatoes.  Enjoy them with anything from Bangers to deliciouscookies.com's own Southern Fried Chicken recipe.  Enjoy plain or with creamy gravy.  You can even elaborate on our basic recipe by adding roasted garlic, sharp Cheddar cheese or freshly chopped scallions.

Let us know what your favorite combinations are.  Enter you recipes on deliciouscookies.com and share your recipes with our other viewers.

Ingredients:
Large Baking Potatoes-4 peeled.
Butter-6 tablespoons softened..
Kosher Salt-2 teaspoons.
White Pepper- 1/2 teaspoon.
Hot Milk or Cream- 1/2 cup.

Instructions.  Peel and boil potatoes until softened about 1 hour.  Drain.  Place in a mixing bowl the butter, salt, white pepper and hot potatoes.  Mix until the desired consistency is obtained.  At deliciouscookies.com we prefer our mashed potatoes  creamy, but you may like them slightly lumpy.  As you like.  Continue mashing or mixing while incorporating the warm milk into the mixture.  We use an electric Kitchen Aide mixer and pour the milk into the potato mixture in a slow steady stream.  Mix until all the milk is incorporated.  Serve immediately or place in a buttered casserole dish covered. Keep warm in the oven.
