Mad Dogs.....
Who are you?
A Floribarnsleyun. Me.
Where are you?
Fort Lauderdale - thank goodness
What are you doing
in Florida?
Sweating, having fun, getting brown, looking at boats, drinking wine,
not caring much about anything much. All those good things that I couldn't
do 'over there'.
Why did you come
here?
I came on holiday for two weeks and sort of stayed.
How did you get
here?
Something to do with Virgin and several hundred quid
Where is 'home'?
Fort Lauderdale - definitely
Who/what do you
love?
Rich, Andy and Nicky. Wine, cheese, pizza, sunshine ...
How American are
you?
I hope not too much, although I'd like everything in life to be
drive-thru. I don't have an American accent. I will never say 'tomaydo".
But I still don't give a toss about who threw what off the Talahatchee
Bridge and I strongly believe that Ruby was RIGHT in taking her love to
town
How British are
you?
About as British as I am American. I don't especially WANT to be
British. Can't I just be me without being American or British????
What does Florida
look like?
Sunny
What does Florida
sound like?
Happy
When will you leave
Florida?
Assuming that I won't live forever....
When they scatter my ashes off Fort Lauderdale Beach and the currents take
them into international waters...

When you were in
the UK.....
Where did you live?
Somewhere cold. Of course.
What did you do
there?
Freeze, mostly
How long were you
there?
Too long
Which song reminds
you of The UK?
I don't want to be reminded of the UK, thank you very much...
Maybe 'We've gotta get out of this place'.
Where is your
favourite place in the UK?
None really, but if I really do have to choose - Rosedale in North
Yorkshire - as long as it's warm and not raining which happens once a
Preston Guild (whatever THAT is)
What did you learn?
In the UK? To relocate (that sounds American!) to Florida
Why did you leave?
Something to do with brass monkeys, the dole, the rain, unemployment,
the grey skies, the fact that everyone is so damned miserable, coats,
scarves, sensible coats, gloves, unattractive but warm underwear, road
fund tax, a hell of a lot of speeding tickets, poll tax, elections, CCJs,
expensive wine/cigs/gas, pissed-off people, the National Health Service,
the Sun, no sun, British so-called food, Sainsbury's, the government, the
seriousness of it all, B & Q, The British police, the nasty little cars,
the M1, Meadowhall, small-mindedness, snow that looks so pretty but turns
into mucky slosh, my mum worrying about what the neighbours think, the
strange accents they have on the BBC news, Marks and Spencers, litter,
buses, Sunday teatimes, parking permits, any town on Saturday nights,
people always complaining, unheated bathrooms, one bathroom per house, ...
hey, I could go on a lot more, you know....
What did you leave?
See above.
Oh, Blackadder and Red Dwarf, of course, but I can see those here.
Which flag do you
wave?
What what?
Back to Mad Dogs
